Well, it’s time for a Tuesday surprise! Lucasfilm released an official synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story that also reaffirmed the release date of May 25, 2018 – although it says “slated for release,” and I know that’s a film term, “slated,” but it’s also a term that allows for a bit of wiggle room. Like, “It was slated for May 25, but we decided to move it.” The closer we get to that slated date, though, the less likely it’s going to move. Assuming everything goes well with the pick-up reshoots later this month, they should be fine for May, right? Let’s hope so…
In the meantime, here’s that 76-word synopsis:
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
On this bonus episode of the podcast, I’m unpacking that synopsis and comparing it to what we know already about the film…
