Wookieepedia says that in the old canon (aka “Legends” now), Chewie’s life debt to Han also included Leia, their three children, and Luke.
Now, in the new canon, none of that is official except for the life debt to Han. So, it begs the question: With Han’s death in The Force Awakens, why does Chewie go to Ahch-To in The Last Jedi? Is he still life-indebted to someone, and if so, who? And if not, doesn’t he want to go back to Kashyyyk to be with his family more?
That’s the tip of the Chewie iceberg explored in the podcast today. It also leads me into what I think is a straightforward and logical idea about Rey’s parentage, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments!
