In yesterday’s podcast, I left things on a bit of a cliffhanger.
There was a comment by Ezra Bridger at the end of “In the Name of the Rebellion,” Star Wars Rebels Season 4, Episode 4, where he muses whether the Empire’s about to win a war the Rebellion doesn’t even know has begun. Words to that effect. π
It’s supposed to be a bit of a stinger, and long-time fans get to shake their heads and go, “Ohhh yeah, you have no idea.”
But what if…
In the first three movies, and in Clone Wars and Rebels, there are only two instances to my knowledge where we see the Death Star. The first is in Attack of the Clones, as part of the scene you see with this post. The other is at the end of Revenge of the Sith, where Palpatine, Vader, and Tarkin are on the bridge of a Star Destroyer, looking out at the frame of the Death Star under construction.
If you remove those two scenes, and watch all three movies (well, four, with the Clone Wars movie) plus the ten seasons of the cartoons, you get near to the same amount of content as in The X-Files, and Saw Gerrera’s quest for uncovering the truth about a rumored “superweapon” starts to look like Fox Mulder’s own quest to uncover the truth.
That, on today’s podcast – and also this:
