Yesterday, I talked with Jason Fry, the author of Star Wars: The Last Jedi Incredible Cross-Sections. Today, his other half (so to speak!) joins me – that would be Kemp Remillard, the illustrator who’s brought his talents to the last two Incredible Cross-Sections books, as well as the Rogue One Ultimate Visual Guide and the recently updated Star Wars: Complete Locations.
Since I shared my question list with you yesterday, I’ll share the ones for today with you, too:
1. What kinds of elements of the vehicles do you get to invent? For example, information about hyperdrives and laser cannons seems straightforward, but the note about the Anodyne having a command bridge that can be ejected in an emergency, or the AT-M6 having an auxiliary space that be customized depending on the mission profile, both seem like they allow you to create the story of the vehicles.
2. Out of all the cross-sections you created for the book, which one was the most challenging (or fulfilling), and why?
3. In past Cross-Sections books, you’ve hidden Easter eggs in your artwork. Can you give us any hints about ones you’ve included this time around?
You’d be surprised how far three questions can take you…
