“Legacy” is the second episode of the Disney+ series Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian. A snippet from that episode has been making the rounds on social media, wherein executive producer Dave Filoni talks about the meaning and the stakes of the lightsaber battle in The Phantom Menace. And I thought that’s what we’d be talking about today…
But as it turns out, there’s also a rather important thing to examine regarding the telling of Star Wars stories with and without George Lucas, and – by sheer coincidence – Dave Filoni also talks about the Vader redemption that we were just talking about on yesterday’s show. And it turns out that he and I may have been saying the same thing … from a certain point of view. Punch it!

This was a great episode , listening to Dave Filoni ,,, definitely more please. Just watching the Gallery show , I just find John Favreau is too much on this show , not giving the other guests the freedom to explore their thoughts. But to me Dave Filoni is the successor to George Lucas. More Dave Please.

It did feel like Jon kind of cut in or talked over from time to time – there was one particularly uncomfortable instance where it felt like he tried to cut in on Deborah Chow, and she kept going even when he tried it repeatedly. I’d like to think that it’s just passion and excitement on his part, and not something negative, but still.
