Of all the kinds of Star Wars storytelling out there, live-action production is the riskiest in terms of keeping people safe during the coronavirus pandemic. Film and TV production in Hollywood was shut down for months, and aside from daytime soap operas, filming – or principal photography, for our purposes – is still largely stalled.
That said, the way Lucasfilm created The Mandalorian – and the lengths to which they’ve had to go to maintain secrecy in their productions in the past – may indicate that a way forward is possible. What’s more, there are success stories from another entertainment industry that could be a hopeful sign. We’ll talk about that all today… Punch it!
