Ever wondered how Star Wars Day got started? The official Star Wars site has info about the origins of the “May the 4th” usage. That link also will get you to the list of deals being offered by dozens of Star Wars merchants on every type of product you can imagine.
Wookieepedia and Wikipedia have much the same info about the first organized Star Wars Day event.
Four months from now, another “4th” is poised to affect our lives: #ForceFriday, September 4th. It won’t be just the books hitting stores. It’ll also be toys, collectibles, and apparel, and store will be opening at 12:01am for the onslaught. Here’s the official PR about it.
