So many colons! Star Wars: Battlefront: Twilight Company debuts in November 2015, but we’ve been treated to a preview as part of the release of Star Wars: Dark Disciple, which officially releases tomorrow.
You may have noticed the “Battlefront” part of the title, which suggests it’ll tie into the Star Wars: Battlefront video game. How, you might ask?
1. There are four playable worlds in the game (five with the Jakku DLC): Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and Sullust.
2. The game makers tell us we’ll be playing in iconic battles from the Star Wars canon.
3. The opening of Twilight Company includes this: “On worlds like Sullust…Rebel forces fight in the trenches, determined to maintain hope against the unrelenting Imperial war machine…”
Makes you go “Hmmmm,” hmmm?
The novel appears to be set squarely between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, as it’s supposed to be three years between those movies in canon time, and the excerpt talks about a Rebel push into the galactic Mid Rim beginning 18 months ago, after the destruction of the Death Star.
