What are some of the wildest reaction videos you’ve seen from people watching The Force Awakens trailer for the first time?
In case you haven’t seen them, the two young leads of the movie have rather different – though both VERY emotional – reactions. Here’s Daisy Ridley’s…
And here’s John Boyega’s…
As one commenter said, “That moment when you see yourself in a lightsaber duel.” Yeah. Exactly right.
If someone had been filming YOU watching the trailer, what would they have seen? Share in the comments!

The boycott thing. I spent a couple of minutes on it in the podcast, and I’m not going to go into it ad nauseum here. Suffice it to say this:
When Scorekeeper Declan watched the trailer for the first time, the first and only thing he said during the trailer was, “Finn gets a lightsaber!” Excited about it. Not angry, not resentful, not indignant, not anything negative at all.
Now, we live in New Hampshire, which is about 94% white. Not exactly ethnically diverse. It’s where Declan was born and raised. As for our specific town? 98% white. Yet he’s excited about the black guy getting a lightsaber. Why?
It’s NOT because there’s a black guy getting a lightsaber. It’s because he’s a good guy character getting a lightsaber – someone to finally take on Kylo Ren. He doesn’t care what color the dude’s skin is, even though he’s growing up in one of the whitest states in the nation.
It reminds me that hate is a learned trait. You have to be taught to hate. It’s not natural in any of us, and it’s certainly not natural in any true Star Wars fan. So let the haters keep on hating, and let them boycott the movie. By all means! I’d rather they stay out of the theater and not disturb my enjoyment of it!
