We’re starting a weekly series focusing on the countdown to Star Wars Celebration Europe! In this, our first installment, we’re looking at the big names that will be appearing – that have been announced so far, at least. (All pics via StarWarsCelebration.com, by the way.)
Gareth Edwards and Kathleen Kennedy will be kicking off Friday with a Rogue One panel that will also include “special guests.” If Celebration Anaheim was any indication, that means we’ll be seeing members of the cast of Rogue One on stage with Gareth and Kathy.
Meanwhile, Dave Filoni, the executive producer of Star Wars Rebels, is also going to appear at Celebration Europe, and I’m pretty sure I’ve read that he’ll have episodes 1 and 2 of Season 3 to share exclusively with attendees, but the Celebration people haven’t announced that Rebels will be a main focus of one of the days (i.e., Saturday, since Friday is Rogue One‘s moment in the sun).
Also appearing so far: Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. These are the only two big actor names that have been revealed so far, though it’s surprising that we haven’t yet heard about anyone else. It’s not like the cast and crew of Episode VIII would have to cross an ocean to go to Celebration this year – they just have to cross the city of London. Easy!
Also, the timing suggests that we *could* get a sneak peek at Episode VIII on Sunday, considering that last year, we got a sneak peek at Rogue One on Sunday. THAT would be spectacular.
And lastly for this episode: It’s just been announced that there will be a Rogue One props and costumes exhibit all weekend long, similar to how there was one for The Force Awakens at Celebration Anaheim last year. For more details about that and what’s up with Celebration Europe, their website’s right here for you.
