Paige and Rose Tico are new additions to the Star Wars universe, but we learn precious little about them in the movie. Paige, if I recall correctly, doesn’t even have a line of dialogue!
In The Last Jedi, Rose tells us they escaped from the First Order devastating their home world, and she’s never seen a fathier in real life. And DJ notes that Rose’s medallion is made from Haysian smelt (Paige had a complementary half to Rose’s), but beyond that, they were mostly a mystery.
