Welcome back to another Star Wars: The Clone Wars Briefing! This time, we’re looking at “Legacy of Terror,” Season 2, Episode 7, which is the 4th of a five-episode arc dealing with some bad juju on Geonosis.
Back in the last episode, Poggle the Lesser got away, so Luminara Unduli takes a clone trooper to track him down. Unfortunately, she’s captured at the “Progate Temple” and falls out of contact. So Obi-Wan, Anakin, and a squad of clones go to rescue her.
At this point, the show becomes a mix of Aliens (remember the bit where the beeping shows them getting closer to the aliens?), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (where mind control worms go into people’s brains), and whatever zombie movie you want to reference. (Shaun of the Dead, perhaps?) This episode is one of the scarier ones, all things considered. Not just for the visuals, but also for the lack of music in some sections (it seems there’s almost always music or some orchestral background in the show).
So, they find out a Geonosian queen has captured Luminara for mind control purposes, but the Jedi aren’t having that, so they bust Luminara out and shoot the heck of the place, causing it to collapse all around the queen, but she’s not shown to be dead, which means we haven’t seen the last of her. (And I believe, in fact, that she showed up in a Darth Vader comic not too long ago.)
Meanwhile, today’s episode of the podcast is brought to you by Zebra Imaging and their Star Wars holograms. Holograms are starting to get even more attention these days. Maybe you heard about the fact that The Force Awakens soundtrack was released in a limited vinyl edition with holograms embedded on each side of the disc. The reality of the Star Wars universe is finally coming to our universe, and you can own a piece of it with holograms from the “Alpha Edition” of Zebra Imaging’s 3D Star Wars holograms featuring Han in Carbonite, the Death Star Trench Run, Kylo Ren, and Artoo with Princess Leia.
