Disney Chairman Bob Iger spoke to investors at Goldman Sachs last week, and the comments he made about the future of Star Wars movies were a bit misreported by various outlets. So I dug up the transcript of the session, and I’ve got the straight dish for you in today’s podcast.
As far as the Star Wars 2020 movie about which Iger says they have a writer working on, I tweeted Pablo Hidalgo to ask him if that’s the same movie Josh Trank had been working on before his departure from the project. This is what he had to say:
@SW7x7podcast Maybe we'll find out whenever that movie's open to talk about. Right now all that's said is all there is to say.

So, unfortunately, that doesn’t tell us anything, but that’s probably to be expected at this point. Pablo generally asks that people not ask him about the future, but since Iger opened the door, I hoped it would be okay to ask. I try not to abuse the privilege of Pablo so actively participating with fans on Twitter. 🙂
