On Friday, 12/23, Carrie Fisher suffered what authorities are calling a “cardiac event” moments before her flight landed in Los Angeles.
She’d been traveling from London, having been in the UK to promote her new book The Princess Diarist, and shooting season 3 of the British TV show Catastrophe. Eyewitness accounts claim she received CPR for as much as 25 minutes before paramedics were able to restore her pulse.
She was taken to UCLA Medical Center, and her brother Todd Fisher initially said that she’d made it “out of emergency” but was still in intensive care on Friday evening. On Sunday, Carrie’s mother Debbie Reynolds tweeted that Carrie was in stable condition, and that the family would share any news of a change in condition.
Those are the basic facts as they’re known as of the time today’s podcast was recorded (Sunday 12/25 at 5:30pm EST), and the podcast dives a little deeper into the news.
(Update 10:15pm EST – still no reported change in her condition.)
