In an earlier episode of the podcast, I ended up following a tangent of thought and exploring what could be Luke Skywalker’s biggest challenge in The Last Jedi. It was the thought process that actually led to this whole series of episodes I’ve done over the past couple of weeks, looking into the potential stories of the characters we saw in The Force Awakens, and what their next cinematic steps might be.
In today’s episode, I’m wrapping up the series with an expanded look at Luke’s situation, his motivations, and yes, the biggest challenges for him in The Last Jedi. Like Rey, I don’t expect the “physical” challenges to be difficult for him – except maybe climbing the Jedi Steps. (Behind the scenes, according to Vanity Fair, he was allocated an hour and a half to climb the stairs, with rest breaks during the process. Everyone else? 45 minutes, gear and all.)
