the-world-according-to-star-warsA few weeks ago, folks at the PR firm representing Cass Sunstein reached out to see I’d be interested in checking out his forthcoming book, The World According to Star Wars. (Would I? Of course I would.) They graciously sent me a copy, which I quickly devoured. It’s a comparatively light read, and I mean that in the best way, especially when you consider Cass’ bio:

Cass R. Sunstein, the former administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, is the Robert Walmsley university professor at Harvard Law School and a Bloomberg View columnist. Sunstein is also the director of the law school’s program on behavioral economics and public policy. He writes widely on topics ranging from behavioral economics to constitutional, administrative and environmental law. He is the author of many books, including “Wiser: Getting Beyond Groupthink to Make Groups Smarter,” written with Reid Hastie, and “Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth and Happiness,” with the economist Richard Thaler. Sunstein is also a member of the Bloomberg Government Advisory Board.

cass-sunstein-star-warsNot exactly the kind of guy you’d expect to be writing a Star Wars book, but it shouldn’t come as any surprise that Star Wars is a compelling narrative spectacle for people from all walks of life, even the most cited law professor in the US. (He seems to handle a lightsaber pretty well, too.)

Listen in for our review of the book, which touches on some very deep academic topics in very accessible ways, and keep an eye out for our interview with Cass, which you’ll be hearing over the next couple of days!
