It’s an intriguing idea Anthony Breznican has about one of the scenes in Star Wars: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel. The excerpt, published last week on Entertainment Weekly‘s website, leads Breznican to posit this theory:
Jyn’s storybook involves a character seeking treasure, who then launches herself to freedom up a channel that rises through eight subterranean levels to the surface. What goes up could also come down. So is this perhaps an inspiration for Galen to create the portal that allows Luke Skywalker to later destroy the Emperor’s weapon of mass destruction?
I’ve had Anthony on the show in the past, and I can say with certainty that he’s a guy who knows story with a capital “S.” He’s not just a writer for EW, he’s also a published author with a highly regarded novel under his belt. So what he’s suggesting is a very plausible story element for Catalyst.
But … is it true?
In today’s spoiler-filled episode, I’ve got the answer for you, with all the evidence to back it up. If you want to wait to hear the details until after you’ve read the novel, then hang on to this podcast for later. But if you want the scoop, dive right in!
I’m also covering timetable to a degree here, which means I need to update our Star Wars Canon timeline soon…
